Alex is a life sciences attorney with 15 years of experience advising innovative pharmaceutical companies on a broad range of competition, commercial, and compliance matters. Alex started his career with DLA Piper, working out of the Bucharest and London offices, advising global clients on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious competition and regulatory matters at national and EU level. After moving in-house in 2017, Alex was the Astellas Legal Director responsible for a cluster of 25 markets across Europe and, more recently, the AbbVie Legal Director for the UK & Ireland. As of 2024, Alex is a Global Senior Counsel at AbbVie, leading on European Legal Strategies and Policy with particular focus on pricing and access. Alex holds an LL.M. diploma in Competition Law from Queen Mary, University of London and an MSc diploma in Health Economics and Policy from the London School of Economics.
