Katharina Bruno-Thakur, PhD, biotechnologist by training (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna) held several positions in the last 16 years at the two biggest pharmaceutical companies in the Basel region, in the area of pharmaceutical development of sterile dosage forms and cell bank management. Before that she spent two years at the University of Chicago in the frame of a postdoctoral fellowship after conducting her PhD thesis at Baxter Bioscience. In her latest position as pharmaceutical project lead at F. Hoffmann La Roche, she is also responsible for the implementation of corporate sustainability objectives in the Pharma technical development unit for Biologics in Europe and as such also representing her company in the BioPhorum sustainability workstream for single use plastic.
