Racquel co-leads Amgen’s RISE (Representation in Clinical Research) Program, which is dedicated to improving the diversity and proportional representation of patients from historically excluded groups in Amgen’s clinical

research programs. She has nearly 15 years of experience in clinical research and the life sciences, including clinical trial oversight, feasibility and site selection. Her background also includes public and community health research, which has consistently focused on racial, ethnic, and gender disparities in healthcare access and health outcomes. Outside of her day job, Racquel is a health equity advocate and a mentor for college aged, BIPOC women interested in STEM fields to empower them to persist and succeed in their educational and career pursuits. She is an MPH graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin and is a DrPH candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where her dissertation research is studying barriers to oncology clinical trial participation for racial and ethnic minorities. She currently resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area.
