Joseph F. Pekny is CEO of Advanced Process Combinatorics, Inc. (APCI) and a Professor of ChemicalEngineering at Purdue University. Professor Pekny was a founding Director of Discovery Park and theRegenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering. He has had numerous leadership roles at Purdue. Inaddition, he cofounded APCI. His research interests are in process modeling, algorithm engineering,hierarchical learning frameworks, and in translating research into practical impact. His work includesapplications in virtual plant modeling, smart manufacturing, debottlenecking, manufacturing socialmedia, and process design, planning and scheduling. He received Purdue University’s One Brick HigherAward for Innovation and Impact.
