John F. Kokai-Kun, PhD is Director, Biologics Industry Collaborations and Partnerships for the US Pharmacopoeia. Dr. Kokai-Kun received his PhD in Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine and has more than 20 years of experience in drug development. He has held various positions with several biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies where his research and development efforts have focused primarily on anti-bacterial drugs, antimicrobial resistance, microbiome therapies, biologics and vaccines. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, and several reviews and book chapters, regarding various aspects of drug development and microbial pathogenesis. Dr. Kokai-Kun was also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and is retired from the United States Army.
