Brian Cafferty is Director of RNA Chemistry and Process Development at Beam Therapeutics. His lab develops technologies and processes to enhance the quality of oligonucleotides used in gene editing. Prior to Beam, Brian worked at Casebia Therapeutics where he developed approaches to produce long RNA oligos, and Harvard University where he worked on molecular information storage and biologically inspired reaction networks. He received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Georgia Tech, where he investigated the structure of noncanonical nucleic acids and models for the origin of RNA.
