Musaddeq Hussain, Ph.D., works in the Analytical lab of the Merck Biologics and Vaccine Research in Merck Research Laboratories located in Kenilworth, New Jersey, USA. He is involved in analytical method development for biologic drugs. His Ph.D. work was on E. coli membrane lipoprotein biogenesis done at Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan and then he did post-doctoral work at Waksman Institute of Microbiology at Rutgers University, Piscataway, New Jersey and UMDNJ, New Jersey on beta-lactamase genes of Bacillus and multi-drug resistance gene of Saccharomyces. Dr. Hussain then moved to Interferon Sciences, Inc., New Brunswick, New Jersey and worked in the R&D labs on the allelic variants of the human interferon-alpha genes and at the QC lab on the residual DNA in the Interferon drug substance purified from WBC. He joined Schering-Plough Research Institute, now Merck Research Laboratories, in 1999.
