Gabriela Ivanova-Berndt, PhDSenior Scientist at Bicycle Therapeutics
Gabriela Ivanova-Berndt has a PhD in bioorganic chemistry from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and her first post-doctoral appointment was at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm (Sweden). Later she worked with Mike Gait at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge (UK) developing peptide conjugates of steric block antisense oligonucleotide analogues (particularly successful with uncharged PNA and PMO when applied for redirection of pre-mRNA splicing). In 2008 she started at Isogenica, Cambridge (UK) where she established and run the company’s Chemistry and Biophysics facilities. Two years ago she joined Bicycle Therapeutics, Cambridge (UK) as a senior scientist developing the Analytics facility in the company. Her research interests include constrained peptides, peptide synthesis, analytical techniques for peptide characterisation, peptide physicochemical and DMPK property prediction, display technologies, drug development.
