Arianna Greco is SVP, General Counsel Commercial at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, a leading company in the development and commercialization of RNA Interference (RNAi) therapeutics. In her role, Arianna leads the Global Commercial Legal team across the US, International and Partner & Emerging Markets Regions, providing strategic legal-business partnership and ensuring solid governance and smooth operations in 19 direct markets and several distributor markets. She is a Member of the Commercial Leadership team, Legal Leadership team and Enterprise Risk Management Committee.

A champion of value-based leadership, Arianna is known for emotional intelligence, high personal integrity, and the soft skills necessary to lead through disruption and collaborate effectively across cultures and all levels of the organization, from operational teams into the C-suite and the boardroom. Passionate about DE&I and sustainability initiatives, Arianna is Member of Alnylam’s Corporate Social Responsibility Steering Committee and Women Leadership Initiative and was Executive Sponsor of the company Director level program focused on developing the next generation of female leaders.

With over 25 years of global experience advising public and private organizations in healthcare and biotech, Arianna has a proven track record guiding innovative and dynamic businesses to success within complex regulatory and enforcement landscapes and worldwide healthcare systems.

A trusted and creative problem solver, across her career Arianna has advised on the clinical development, regulatory approval, launch and commercialization of more than 10 medicines in rare diseases, oncology and immunology, and leveraged her broad legal and compliance expertise to evaluate strategic business options, improve management and controls and deliver long term impact for patients and shareholders.

Arianna first joined Alnylam in 2016 as Head of Legal for the Europe and Canada and then International Region, to set up the ex-US organizational model, legal infrastructure and pharmaceutical supply chain and support the transition from a pre-commercial company to a global, R&D and Commercial multinational.

Prior to Alnylam, she led the ex-US Legal function for PTC Therapeutics, InterMune and Onyx Pharmaceuticals and was a Legal Director at Celgene.

Arianna started her career practicing law in Italy and representing research and healthcare institutions, pharmaceutical companies and patient associations. She contributed to the debate on the ethical and regulatory implications of the life sciences and participated in the development of national and EU guidelines on biotechnology and biosafety.

A JD from the University of Genova (IT) in 1996, Arianna is a qualified attorney since 1999 and holds a Doctorate Degree in Bioethics from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Genova (IT).
