Jennifer Cochran is the Shriram Chair of the Department of Bioengineering at Stanford University. Her research focuses on protein-based drug discovery and development for applications in oncology, and development of new technology for high-throughput protein analysis and engineering. Dr. Cochran obtained her Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from MIT, where she also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Biological Engineering. While on leave from Stanford from 2015-2017, she served in the role of Chief Scientific Officer at Lagunita Biosciences, a healthcare investment company and incubator that creates and grows early stage companies to commercialize impactful translational science. During this time, she co-founded several companies, including xCella Biosciences and Nodus Therapeutics, and served in various executive roles in these organizations.
