Alfonso Domínguez is a PhD Agricultural Engineer developing his academic activity as Associate Professor at the Superior Technical School of Agricultural and Forestry Engineers of Albacete, and as researcher at the Regional Centre of Water Research (Castilla-La Mancha University, Spain). His field of expertise is the agricultural water management under water scarcity conditions. He has developed a model for the sustainable management of groundwater in the Eastern Mancha aquifer by using Bayesian belief networks, and several optimization modules for the MOPECO model, which aim is to increase the profitability of irrigation farms through the optimal management of land and irrigation water. The scientific production may be summarized as 25 JCR papers and the direction or codirection of 6 Doctoral Thesis. He has participated in 5 European projects (being the coordinator of the SUPROMED project gained in the 2018 PRIMA call) and 5 national projects (1 as PI).
