Nicole Baute Honorée, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Economic Development and Strategic Initiatives at the LSU Health Sciences Center at New Orleans, has over two decades of higher education experience in managing a variety of programs, plans and policies related to research-based economic development, technology transfer, advocacy, and industry relations for university systems as well as for both public and private institutions. She has launched a comprehensive academic technology transfer office, founded a successful university research park, implemented new university and statewide policies in support of commercialization, and initiated two proof-of-concept funds to support the development of innovation for public benefit, including the multi-million dollar LSU LIFT2 fund, now in its fifth year of faculty awards. Nicole also has engaged in numerous local, regional and state-wide policy and economic development projects based on academic research and technology transfer, including serving on Louisiana’s Vision 2020 team, the Louisiana Innovation Council and the Louisiana Board of Regents’ Master Plan Research Advisory Council. She is a past board member of AUTM, LouisianaBIO, Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, the Biotechnology Association of Alabama, and the Gulf Coast Technology Council. Nicole was one of the first fifty people globally designated as a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP), and holds a B.S. in natural sciences from Loyola University New Orleans along with an M.S. in Public Policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
