Patrizia Carlevaro, M.D.Co-Founder at GenomSys
Co-founder and board member of GenomSys SA., a start-up to develop technologies to improve compression, storage and transport of genomic data. As Managing Director of Otsuka SA from 2011 to 2015, she established the multinational Geneva and Russia entities. Previously she served as Lilly Head Unit where she developed corporate policies (access, IPRs), global health initiatives and transfer of technologies. She represented companies at trade associations and chaired industry working groups.
Up to 1995 she was Head of the Unicef Essential Drugs Unit in New York, responsible for global pharmaceutical policies and programs. Prior she worked at Pierre Fabre Italy, where she managed registration, marketing, training and business development. She has also worked in the West African Republic of Guinea, to establish a national drug manufacturing plant.
Patrizia obtained her Doctorate in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies at Pavia University.
She is Board member of the LFB Biomédicaments, Medicines Patent Poll, Florence Nightingale International Foundation, the Cercle des Dirigeants d’ Entreprises of Geneva. Advisory Board Member of the European Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (up to 2018) and UNCTAD Empretec Women in Business Award.
