Yolanda Johnson-Moton

Director of External Relations at Eli Lilly and Company


Yolanda Johnson-Moton is the Director for external relations at Eli Lilly and Company where she drives the strategy and implementation of a portfolio to enhance Lilly’s partnerships with US external stakeholders. Yolanda is known for her innovative thinking and ability to implement on her vision, earning her the prestigious 2017 LRL President’s Scientific and Diversity award. She was recently selected as one of Indianapolis Business Journal’s 2017 “Women of Influence,” which recognizes women who have demonstrated professional excellence and leadership in their careers and community service. In 2016, she was honored with the PM360 ELITE award for transformational leadership. She is very passionate about education, and recently launched an eLearning course titled “Making Medicines: The Process of Drug Development”.  Prior to launching the course, she developed and launched several Student Partnership Programs between Lilly USA and the academic medical community. Yolanda has a clear passion for diversity within the minority community and in 2016; her team received the Global Diversity and Inclusion award at Lilly for their work with minority students.

Yolanda joined Lilly in 2008 and held positions in Managed Healthcare Services and Health Education where she launched education and engagement platforms including an award winning, patient education program called Health Education Answers, and award winning website Lilly for Better Health™ to broaden patient access to health education tools and resources.

Her educational pursuits have earned her a Bachelors of Science degree from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business, in marketing and business analysis, and she obtained her MBA with a healthcare concentration from Indiana Wesleyan University.

She enjoys public speaking and currently represents Lilly on the following: American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Corporate Roundtable, American Medical Association (AMA) Corporate Roundtable, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Corporate Advisory Board, and is chairman of the board for Girl Talk Inc., a non-profit assisting minority girls in reaching their highest potential.
