Dr. Yechiel Engelhard is an experienced executive and entrepreneur who has co-founded, managed and sold health-tech companies, and led global teams for over 15 years. He has managed the development of new technologies, software and hardware products, business strategies, and industry partnerships focusing on mobile and connected devices.
He practiced medicine in several healthcare systems including as a combat medical officer for the Israeli army and has vast hands-on experience in healthcare delivery workflow, clinical practice, medical management and new technology implementation.
In 2012, he co-founded Gecko Health Inc. which developed an innovative connected device, accompanying mobile app and cloud-based system to treat chronic respiratory diseases and which was acquired by Teva Pharmaceuticals in 2015, the only digital health acquisition of its kind by a pharmaceutical company. As part of Teva, Dr. Engelhard leads the global digital products’ commercial team as the Head of Digital Health in the Global Respiratory Medicines group. The team develops a line of connected products and leads the integration of new technological solutions within healthcare and wellness organizations, health plans and medical groups. Dr. Engelhard is a frequent speaker at industry events on healthcare mobile and connected devices. He received his MD and MHA degrees from Ben-Gurion University in Israel and an MBA degree from MIT Sloan School of Management. He lives and jogs along the Charles river in downtown Boston.
