Profile

Jim is a strategic and innovative Marketing and Sales professional with nearly 20 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He is currently Director, Respiratory Marketing with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc.  and U.S. team leader for Spiriva. In this role, Jim is charged with the commercialization of the   asthma indication, leading a team of marketing professionals in establishing this first-in-class treatment option. As part of this effort, he has introduced several innovative, first-of-kind initiatives to BIPI, including the development and deployment of addressable TV ads and geo-doming campaigns that leverage mobile technology to engage professional and consumer healthcare audiences.

Prior to this role, he was Regional Sales Director with BIPI responsible for leading a large team of sales managers and representatives to drive sales across a broad therapeutic portfolio, including Anti-Coagulation, Respiratory, and Diabetes. His other roles and experience at BIPI included the development and implementation of a new Regional Marketing group within BIPI, as well as Marketing positions of increasing responsibility and various stages of product life cycle. This experience included multiple launches and an alliance partnership with Eli Lilly. While at BIPI, he has been selected by Senior Leadership to participate in several development opportunities including the  Leadership Development Program  , and  the International Management Development Program. Prior to joining BIPI, Jim held a business development leadership role on the agency side of the business, and account management positions with J&J, Novartis, and Sanofi.

Jim’s work has been recognized by several industry awards, including the RxClub of Excellence Award for a Professional (HCP) Ad Campaign and the MM&M Award for Best Product Launch Campaign. Jim holds a MBA from the University of New Haven, a BA in economics from the University of Rochester, and has taken Executive Education courses at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. On a personal note, Jim and his wife Pam are the proud parents of two “super” children, Emma (17 years old) and Jack (15 years old) who are dedicated students, athletes, and community service volunteers. Jim and Pam enjoy travel, golf, tennis, and hiking the Adirondacks.
