Board Member at Taconic Biosciences
Charlotte serves on the Board of Directors of privately held Taconic Biosciences, Inc., a global provider of genetically modified mouse and rat models, where she chairs the Nominating/Governance Committee. She was recently elected to the Board of Fort Hill Co.,which provides innovative tools for workplace and performance improvement, and chairs the Compensation Committee. She served on the Board of American Pacific Corporation through 2014 (NASDAQ: AMPAC), a leading custom manufacturer of pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and propulsion products, where she was Chair of the Retirement Benefits Committee. She is an NACD Board Leadership Fellow and Governance Fellow.Additional board positions include MindField Solutions, which uses neuroscience tools to improve healthcare decision-making and Galileo Analytics, a leader in the field of claims data analysis. She is Past President of the Marketing Research Institute International. Her not-for-profit board service includes Chair of Mendelssohn Club Chorus, the largest amateur chorus in Philadelphia and a frequent performer with the Philadelphia Orchestra.She has been a regular lecturer at Columbia University Executive MBA Program and serves on the Advisory Board of St. Joseph’s University Healthcare Executive MBA. She was named the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) 2008 Woman of the Year, recognizing leadership, business expertise and mentoring, and was one of Pharma Voice’s Most Inspiring People in Pharma in 2006.Charlotte has built and led integrated commercial assessment, insights and analytics groups in four major pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Most recently, she was at Shire plc. as Senior Vice President,leading talent management and key corporate initiatives focusing on customer engagement and marketing excellence.Her career has spanned 40 years in the healthcare industry, starting in market research at Pfizer, and subsequently gaining experience in medical devices at Johnson & Johnson, in the global pharma market at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pharmacia (now Pfizer), in biotech at Millennium Pharmaceuticals (now Takeda Oncology), and in consumer products at Lipton. She established the US operations for Isis, a leading UK based market research company, achieving profitability in 18 months in a highly competitive environment.She also spent three years on Wall Street at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette as a security analyst for the pharmaceutical industry.She is known for her strategic vision, building and leading teams, and for developing and coaching people atall levels of the organization.She holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business and an AB in French and German from Middlebury College cum laude. Charlotte and her husband,Leif Magnusson, a retired attorney, and their two cats live in Berwyn, PA.
