Allen Kindman is Vice-President and head of Clinical Planning and Analytics at IQVIA. Simply put, the role of this team is to confirm protocol feasibility, and then find the right patients, investigators, and sites around the world. The group does this by leveraging vast data sets of anonymized patient information derived from administrative health care and prescription claims, Ministry of Health data, curated anonymized electronic medical records, public and subscription databases. The team also reaches out to physicians and investigators around the world, communicating through local resources. Finding better ways to integrate all of this data consumes much of Allen’s day.
Along with many others at IQVIA, Allen’s role at IQVIA includes looking beyond the horizon to create the clinical trial of the future.
Allen was a Clinical Professor of Cardiology at the University of North Carolina prior to joining QuintilesIMS in 2013. Over the course of his career he has been a site investigator for device and pharma trials, and has practiced general and interventional cardiology in both academic and in rural settings. His research interests ranged from clinical heart failure to intracellular Calcium signaling. Allen attended medical school at Mount Sinai (now Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai), medical residency at New York Hospital (now New York Presbyterian Weil Cornell Medical Center), and Stanford University, and cardiology fellowship at Stanford.
