I have a PhD in Biotechnology from University of Ljubljana. I’ve been working at National Institute of Biology for 12 years and have expertise in development of novel molecular (PCR- and isothermal-based) simplex and multiplex methods for both applied and research purposes in the field of nucleic acid detection and quantification. In the last six years my work was focused on Digital PCR. As it enables absolute quantification, we implemented this methodology for characterization of gene therapy viral vectors (e.g. to determine the viral genome titer). Also for the last six years I was involved in high-throughput sequencing experiments, which we also transferred to the field of gene therapy to get a deeper insight into nucleic acid content of intermediate and drug products.
