Austin is Director of Cell Therapy Development at Semma Therapeutics, where he is focused on developing a pluripotent stem cell-derived pancreatic islet therapy for type 1 diabetes. Austin has a B.S. from Penn State University and a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania. He has several years of experience developing stem cell-derived therapies. Austin previously worked at ACT/Ocata Therapeutics prior to joining Semma in early 2016.
