Elli Makrydaki
Graduate Student, Dept of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London

Elli Makrydaki studied Chemical Engineering in the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. In 2014 she received her MRes in Systems and Synthetic Biology at Imperial College London, UK. Shortly after she started her PhD in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London and the groups of Dr. Cleo Kontoravdi and Dr. Karen Polizzi. Her research focuses on developing in vitro techniques to control protein glycosylation. By using molecular biology techniques and enzyme immobilisation she is designing a sustainable system, tailored for each application which can improve the production of therapeutic proteins, such as monoclonal antibodies and vaccines.
