Dieter studied Biotechnology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna and completed his doctoral thesis in the field of virus-based protein expression in 2011. Thereafter he held various Postdoc positions at the University of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences. In 2016 he moved to the Austrian Center for Industrial Biotechnology (acib), where he headed a project to develop production processes for viral vectors. In 2020 he joined Themis Bioscience, an innovative biotech company focusing on the development of vaccines and therapies for infectious diseases as well as cancer. As Head of Upstream Process Development his responsibilities included the establishment of efficient production processes for manufacturing of prophylactic vaccines. At bespark*bio, Dieter holds the position as Managing Director and CTO, providing scientific and technical leadership.
