Nuno Fontes is the Senior Vice-President, Head of Global Biologics Development at Bayer, leading all process development and early-stage clinical manufacturing of cell therapy, gene therapy and recombinant protein therapeutics. Nuno has 25 years of industry experience in biologics development and manufacturing, 9 of which at Genentech/Roche and 7 at Boehringer Ingelheim where he contributed to the development and manufacturing of many clinical biotherapeutics and to the launch and commercialization of 5 new biopharmaceuticals. Being very passionate for innovation, throughout his career Nuno has contributed to the development and commercialization of several novel bioprocess development and manufacturing technologies. After undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Molecular Cell Biology, Nuno obtained a PhD in Biochemical Engineering and a MBA in Commercialization of Science and Technology,
