Vice President, Process Science at Bluerock Therapeutics
Nick joined BlueRock Therapeutics in August 2017 after ~6 years at CCRM (the Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine) where he established and lead process and product development capabilities, including the Centre for Advanced Therapeutic Cell Technologies (CATCT) - a $40-million initiative between CCRM, the Federal Government of Canada, and GE Healthcare. Nick came to Canada by way of the University of Queensland, Australia, where he was a Team Leader in cellular therapies. His work focused on development of production processes for hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell derived-, and mesenchymal stem cell products. This followed a post-doc at the University Hospital Basel, Switzerland developing novel bioreactor systems for manufacture of engineered tissue products, and a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Queensland. Originally from New Zealand, Nick holds a Bachelor of Technology (Biotechnology) with 1st class honors from Massey University, New Zealand.
