Atul earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Buffalo, followed by post-doctoral work in cancer and vascular biology. He then joined Thermo Fisher Scientific’s custom media and feed development group. After a brief stint at Janssen Biotech as a bioreactor scientist, Atul joined KBI Biopharma as a Principal Scientist and Group Leader in the Process Development group in July 2021. His team has successfully developed processes for first-in-human recombinant proteins and monoclonal and bispecific antibodies, including biosimilars. At KBI, Atul has successfully transferred upstream processes for GMP manufacturing and completed late-phase process characterization programs.
