Dr Harpreet Sood is the Associate Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) at NHS England and is a practicing NHS Doctor. Harpreet was formerly Senior Fellow to the CEO of NHS England where his portfolio of work included the launch and implementation of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme, innovation and technology policy and leading on the Wachter Review, which focused on digital health across the NHS.As Associate CCIO, Harpreet will be involved with implementing the recommendations from the Wachter Review including the launch of the NHS Digital Academy. Prior to NHS England, Harpreet was a Deland Fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston where he focused on diffusing innovation through complex organisations with the launch of the iHub, service care redesign and researching the impact of health information technology on healthcare. Whilst in Boston, Harpreet also co-founded a digital health start-up in paediatric asthma adherence, which was funded by Harvard Medical School. Harpreet trained as a clinical doctor at King’s College London and Imperial College Business School and completed a Masters in Public Health (MPH) at Harvard University.Harpreet sits on the NHS Prevention Board, Advisory Board for Digital Health.London and is Vice Chair of the British Computer Society Health Committee. Harpreet also remains an advisor to Partners Healthcare Innovation group in Boston.
