Director, Biomanufacturing Program, Executive Director, Consortium on Adventitious Agent Contamination in Biomanufacturing at MIT Center for Biomedical Innovation
Dr. Stacy Springs is the Associate Director of the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL). In addition, she serves as the Senior Director of Programs at MIT’s Center for Biomedical Innovation (CBI) and as the Executive Director of both MIT’s Biomanufacturing Program (BioMAN) and its Consortium on Adventitious Agent Contamination in Biomanufacturing (CAACB). BioMAN allows diverse manufacturing entities to share knowledge in a collaborative and pre-competitive environment with the goal of improving practices across all platforms. The CAACB pools biopharmaceutical manufacturing expertise in the area of adventitious agent contamination to better enable the safe and dependable delivery of life-saving biologics. She is also the Co-chair of MassBio Manufacturing, which promotes Massachusetts leadership in the life sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and gained postdoctoral training in protein and biophysical chemistry at Princeton University.
