James C. Leung, Ph.D.
Dr. James Leung is a Visiting Scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology participating in biotechnology research projects in the Biology and Chemical Engineering departments. He is an adjunct professor at Northeastern University teaching graduate courses in biotechnology. He also consults with the biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in the areas of biotherapeutic development and manufacturing.
For the last 29 years, Dr. Leung worked in the biotechnology industry mainly in the areas of process development, manufacturing and product development of recombinant biotherapeutics. He started his career at Genentech Inc. (S. San Francisco, CA). Later he served as Senior VP of Operations at Repligen Corporation (Cambridge, MA). Most recently, he was VP of Biotechnology at Ipsen, responsible for the creation and start-up of the biotechnology R&D group based in the Boston area.
Dr. Leung received a B.Sc. degree from the Chemical Engineering Department at MIT. For graduate studies, he received a M.Sc. degree and a Ph.D. degree in Biochemical Engineering from MIT.
