Leonardo Fernandes Fraceto, PhD, received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the State University of Campinas (1997), his master’s in Functional and Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (2000) and his PhD in Functional and Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (2003). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Science and Technology of São Paulo State University (UNESP), Campus Sorocaba at the Environmental Engineering undergraduate course and at the postgraduate in Environmental Sciences.
Leonardo coordinated the Postgraduate Program in Environmental Sciences of Unesp/Sorocaba (from 2012 to 2016) and is a Fellow from the Royal Society of Chemistry. He has experience in nanotechnology, with an emphasis on health and environmental nanotechnology and applications of nanotechnology in agriculture.
Leonardo has published about 200 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and has supervised undergraduates and graduates (master and PhD) and supervised post-docs. Leonardo is an Associate Editor with high standard journals (Scientific Reports [Nature], PLOS one, Frontiers in Chemistry, Journal of Nanobiotechnology [Springer-Nature], Energy, Ecology and Environment [Springer]) and acts as reviewer for more than 50 journals. He has also deposited 11 patents and licensed one to a company from the agri-sector.
