Professor of Pathology at UT Southwestern Medical Center
Dr. Yang-Xin Fu was a medical student in Shanghai Medical University in 1978 to 83. He was a resident in Peking Union Medical College Hospital. In 1986-1990, he went to University of Miami School of Medicine as a Ph.D. Student of Department of Microbiology and Immunology. He completed his medical residency in Washington University from 1994-1998. From 1998-2005, he became an assistant professor and attending physician of Dept. of Pathology and Committee on Immunology. He was directly promoted to be tenured professor in 2005. He moved to UTSW and become Professor of Pathology and Mary Neil and Ralph B Rogers Professor in Immunology in 2015 since. He has been recently working on translational medicine, especially immunotherapy and immunopathology in cancer and infectious diseases. He has published more than 200 papers in those fields, many in high impact journals including Science, Nature Immunology, Nature Medicine, Cancer Cell, and Immunity(cited > 28,500, h-index 82). He has been recently focusing on targeted treatment on tumors and study the impact local radiation, fusion protein, and tumor-targeting antibodies for tumor microenvironment and immune responses and develop new strategies that can synergize with immunotherapy.
