Principal Research Scientist, Janssen BioTherapeutics at Janssen R&D
John Wheeler is currently a Principal Research Scientist at Janssen in the department of Biologics Research. He is the leader of the antibody phage display group in Spring House, Pennsylvania and has been at Janssen for 10 years. John obtained a Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology from University of Southern California and completed his postdoctoral training at SUNY at Stony Brook and Yale University. He then worked at from The Rothberg Institute for Childhood Diseases developing antibody libraries to identify lead antibodies for tuberous sclerosis therapeutics. At Janssen, John contributed to the generation of antibody phage libraries, antibody affinity maturation strategies, and applied the phage display technology to various projects, some of which are now in the clinic and several others in development for clinical trials.
