Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Genetics, Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Stanford University
Eilon Sharon, PhD, is a postdoc scholar advised by Profs Jonathan Pritchard and Hunter Fraser in Stanford University’s Department of Genetics. Eilon’s main interest lies in understanding the effect of genetic variants on the immune system. In addition, Eilon is involved in studying the effect of genetic variants on gene expression using CRISPR editing and developing diagnostic tools for transplant recipient health using cfDNA. Eilon earned his PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science under the supervision of Prof. Eran Segal. During his PhD, he developed synthetic biology and thermodynamic modeling methods, which he applied to decipher the encoding of transcriptional regulation in yeast. He holds BSc’s in biology and Computer Science, and spent two and half years discovering novel human miRNA as an algorithms developer for Rosetta Genomics.
